Choose Insurance Type:

Technology has really helped to make our lives easier all the way around … at least when it works properly anyway.  But fixing technical glitches isn’t the focus for today; it’s much better to focus on the positive aspects of technology like getting your insurance online, for example.  It may not seem like a huge thing, but for some it’s something approaching a lifesaver.  And even if you have a flexible job that will allow you the time you would need to go in for an appointment with a local insurance agent, doing it online is still infinitely more convenient.

Making the Online Transition

Certainly, change comes hard to most people.  It’s difficult to give up what is familiar in favor of something you may know very little about.  It can even be a little scary.  But change is, so very often, a good thing and in terms of insurance coverage it’s a very good thing.  When you decide to get your insurance online, so many doors are opened for you that you simply won’t get from your local company.

For starters, you’ll have access to tons of insurance quotes without having to travel from one company to another or make phone call after phone call.  Simply find a good online insurance rates comparison site, punch in your information and let the site do the rest.  If you would still rather get your own quotes, it’s possible to go to each company’s website individually and request a quote, although this is really just creating more work for yourself.  But some habits do die hard, so if it makes you feel better at first, then by all means.

If you do choose to do your own independent research, however, go ahead and try a comparison site to compare your data with the data of the site.  Chances are that the numbers will be the same, and sometimes the comparison site may actually get you a lower quote.  This can give you total faith that you don’t have to do things the hard way to get good, reliable information.

Once you’ve gathered your quotes and compared them, give yourself a little peace of mind by doing a quick check into the reliability of the companies.  After that, all that is really left to do is choose your quote, purchase your insurance online, and fire your brick and mortar company.  This may be a bittersweet time for you, but the savings you are likely to incur will soon have you wondering why you never made the transition earlier.

Buying insurance online can certainly save you a whole lot of hassle over the years.  You’ll have access to your policy any time, day or night, so you can always get the information you need without having to wait until business hours to make a call.  And let’s be honest: that call may go unreturned for hours or even a day or more.  No, you don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Looking for car insurance in Arizona?  Scottsdale auto insurance is basically the same as it is in Phoenix or Tucson so even though geography doesn’t really play a big part in terms, the state has their own guidelines as to what is required and what isn’t.

Coverage is the same throughout the state so the same minimal coverage applies everywhere.  The smallest amount a driver is required to carry is $30,000 per accident for bodily injury and $10,000 for property damage.  There is only one way out for carrying this coverage.  A driver would have to have proof that the total of both types of coverage, which equals $40,000, would have to be in reserve and specifically designated for any type of liability payment.

Even though law does not require it, comprehensive coverage is something to consider. This covers a driver when the car is damaged, but not in an accident.  Some common examples of covered items would be fire, theft, weather-related issues like hail, or the unfortunate instance of hitting a deer or other animal.

Most people have coverage but don’t really know anything about what it does, or does not cover.  An important feature of coverage is liability.  The best way to explain this is by using one of two scenarios. If driver A is in an accident and it is the fault of driver B then B’s insurance carrier should pick up the bill.  But when driver A is involved and is either at fault or driver B does not have coverage, then the carrier for driver A foots the bill.

But it can be much more complicated than that.  An uninsured motorist can not only cause an insured driver’s company to pay, but many times being forced to file a claim against their company can raise the insured individual’s premiums- even if they are not at fault.

With almost one quarter of the state thumbing their nose at the insurance law this puts a tremendous strain on those who pay for coverage.  Every time an insured motorist gets on the road they risk being involved in an accident with someone who does not have the means, or the intention, of paying up.

This translates into big losses and it is reflected in Scottsdale car insurance rates as well as elsewhere throughout the state.  Unfortunately, someone has to pick up the tab for these individuals and that someone is everyone else.
